From Northern Europe comes this lean and unique game meat. This product is a supplementary food, not a complete meal. It can be advantageously combined with organ meat and bones to create a complete diet following the BARF method, making it perfect for those who want to prepare homemade meals for their dog. It is also excellent for dogs undergoing elimination diets for allergy testing, or for those who simply wish to offer it occasionally for some variety in their diet.

Venison is leaner than beef and other red meats, making it a great option for dogs that tend to gain weight easily. It is a good source of B vitamins and minerals such as zinc, phosphorus, selenium, and iron. These nutrients are excellent for maintaining healthy energy levels, and many dogs and cats enjoy its flavour.

Ingredients

100% venison (mixed muscle groups). May contain small pieces of cartilage/bone from muscle attachments.

Handling and durability

How to thaw and store the food safely:

  • Place the package in an airtight container and let it thaw in the refrigerator overnight.
  • In a hurry? You can thaw it in a water bath with warm (not boiling) water.

The food seems to taste best when slightly warm, but many dogs also enjoy it partially frozen – especially on hot summer days.

Shelf life: Once thawed, the food will keep in the refrigerator for 3–4 days. The best-before date applies to unopened and deep-frozen packages and is set to 2 years from the production date.

    IMPORTANT to remember:
    - Good hand hygiene! Treat dog food as you would raw meat for human consumption. Always wash utensils, bowls, and slow feeders after contact with raw meat.
    - As with all game meat from hunting, in rare cases, despite strict controls and the use of metal detectors, fragments of bullets may be present in the product. It is therefore always recommended to inspect the product carefully before giving it to your dog.

Feeding instructions

As this is a supplementary food and not a complete meal, it should not be fed on its own. It is suitable for those who wish to mix their own food or simply add extra variety from time to time.

Raw meat can safely be mixed with, for example, dry food. To avoid an unbalanced diet, no more than 20% of the daily intake should be added. If the proportion of fresh food exceeds 20% of the total diet in the long term, the fresh portion must also be nutritionally balanced.

If you are using it in a homemade diet, the amount given per portion can correspond to the amount of their complete food. This means approximately 2% of body weight per day for adult dogs, and 4–6% of body weight per day for puppies, young dogs, and pregnant bitches.

Do not hesitate to contact your veterinarian if you are unsure or would like guidance.

Delivery options

The frozen raw feed and frozen chews can either be collected at our premises in Flatåsen, Trondheim, or they can be sent by parcel to a collection point or by home delivery. If you want to have it sent by post, it is important that you read the entire section on sending frozen goods under "Sending frozen goods" which you can find HERE

Minimum order: 12 kg of frozen goods (e.g., 24 x 500g or 12 x 1 kg)
Max per shipment: 1 polystyrene box = 18 kg of frozen feed

Example of a full polystyrene box:

  1. 36 x 500g
  2. 18 x 1 kg
  • We do not send the medallions in 800g, as they will not remain frozen all the way.

The examples above are only indicative. The size and shape of the products may vary, and small adjustments to the content may therefore occur when purchasing a full polystyrene box.

If you want to buy both frozen feed and frozen chews, we can check if there is space in the polystyrene box. If adjustment is necessary, we will contact you before shipping. If you order both frozen and dry goods (e.g., treats), we can send everything together if there is space, otherwise it will be sent separately. You only pay one shipping cost.

About the producer

Sund Hundmat is a wholly owned Swedish company. Veterinarian Wiktor Sandecki observed that our pets were suffering from the same health issues as humans, often related to lifestyle and eating habits. Pet owners can often find the range of pet food overwhelming, and the recommendations given can sometimes be misleading. Choosing food for your pet is actually quite simple – feed your animal a species-appropriate diet that is as minimally processed as possible.

Since its founding in 2011, their vision has been to provide pets with logical and healthy food made exclusively from natural ingredients. They wanted to be an alternative on the market without compromising on ethics or environmental considerations. The result is Sund Hundmat — modern complete food, chews, and treats from animals that have had free access to daily outdoor activity and grazing all year round. They clearly distance themselves from intensive breeding, and their production is powered by 100% renewable energy. It’s all about sustainable production, the highest quality, and plain common sense.
