Slippery elm is better known as the "Swiss Army Knife" of supplements because it has so many incredible health benefits. It is widely known and has been available as an herbal supplement to humans for hundreds of years. The herb is packed with vitamins A, C, and K and is rich in fiber and magnesium.

Anti-inflammatory
The herb relieves inflammation in all mucous membranes, including the nose and throat, and reduces redness, swelling and pain. It contains mucilage that forms a protective film. If the dog is suffering from irritated mucous membranes in the intestines or urinary tract, this can have a soothing effect, and can also help with coughs and sore throats.

Digestive problems
Slippery elm is also a prebiotic, meaning it helps feed the good bacteria in your gut, supporting good gut function. The mucus the herb produces soothes and lubricates the lining of your gut, which can help with diarrhea, colitis, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, and gastroenteritis. It is high in fiber, which can help with an upset stomach.

Less skin irritation
Slippery elm is an anticoagulant, making it a great topical treatment for minor wounds or rashes. Mix the powder with cold water to form a paste, then apply directly to your dog's affected skin areas and let it dry before removing.

Ways to give it:

  1. Mix it directly into the feed
  2. Stir it with water/bone broth/kefir and make it into a paste before serving. Slippery elm will provide better upper gastrointestinal relief if taken 30-60 minutes before meals. If your dog has lower digestive issues, such as constipation or diarrhea, it will benefit most from being given with food or right after eating.

ATTENTION!

1. Do not give it at the same time as medications: Slippery elm can reduce the absorption of medications if given at the same time. Therefore, give it at least 2 hours before or after medications.

2. Do not give to pregnant or nursing bitches: The use of Slippery elm in pregnant or nursing bitches is not well documented, so it is not recommended to give it to the dog then.

3. Avoid long-term use without veterinary supervision: While slippery elm is safe, you should always consult a veterinarian if your dog has persistent problems. Long-term use may mask underlying health problems.

Helt fantastisk!
