Green-lipped mussels contain high levels of omega-3 fatty acids, as well as a variety of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, enzymes, and trace elements. The high content of vitamin B12 promotes cell regeneration and supports the nervous system.
The mussels are known for their osteoarticular health benefits. The effect is attributed to their high content of omega-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and eicosatetraenoic acid (ETA). These fatty acids are known for their anti-inflammatory properties and can help reduce inflammation associated with diseases such as osteoarthritis.
They also contain glycosaminoglycans, which provide a chondroprotective effect.
