Chicken necks are perfect chews for cats and dogs, and are easy on the stomach to digest. A wonderfully soft but tough variety that provides plenty of chewing resistance and activity. Bones are rich in both healthy meat and fat, as well as nutrients linked to healthy joint structure, such as glucosamine (from cartilage).

Unfortunately, many dogs often suffer from both dental and gum problems. With the right size meat bones, dogs have to work with their entire set of teeth and jaw muscles to digest their food. Such work results in a natural cleaning of both teeth and gums. Dogs and cats also have a need to chew, and these will help satisfy this need.

Handling and durability

Handling
If you are not feeding them frozen: Place the desired number of bones in an airtight container (glass/plastic) and let them thaw in the refrigerator overnight. If you want to thaw the bones faster, you can place the container in a warm water bath. The bones seem to taste and smell best when they are slightly warm, but some dogs don't seem to mind being served slightly frozen, especially on hot summer days.

Remember to be careful with hand hygiene – the same rules for handling fresh food for us humans also apply when handling fresh dog food.

Durability
Once the bones are thawed, they will keep for about 2-3 days in the refrigerator. The best-before date on the package is from the date of production, but this only applies to unopened and frozen bones.

Other information

When it comes to chicken, MUSH follows strict quality guidelines according to EU and Finnish regulations.

Must be stored in the freezer, and should not be boiled or fried as this can cause the bones to splinter and, in the worst case, injure the dog.

Defrost separately from other foods, e.g. in an airtight container, and serve. Do not defrost in a microwave or heat-treated.

After handling: wash hands and clean tools and surfaces with which the product has come into contact.

Store in the freezer at a temperature below -18°C.

Delivery options

The frozen raw feed and frozen chews can either be collected at our premises in Flatåsen, Trondheim, or they can be sent by parcel to a collection point or by home delivery. If you want to have it sent by post, it is important that you read the entire section on sending frozen goods under "Sending frozen goods" which you can find HERE. 

Minimum order: 12 kg of frozen goods (e.g., 24 x 500g or 12 x 1 kg)
Max per shipment: 1 polystyrene box = 18 kg of frozen feed 

Example of a full polystyrene box:

  1. 36 x 500g
  2. 18 x 1 kg
  • We do not send the medallions in 800g, as they will not remain frozen all the way.

The examples above are only indicative. The size and shape of the products may vary, and small adjustments to the content may therefore occur when purchasing a full polystyrene box.

If you want to buy both frozen feed and frozen chews, we can check if there is space in the polystyrene box. If adjustment is necessary, we will contact you before shipping. If you order both frozen and dry goods (e.g., treats), we can send everything together if there is space, otherwise it will be sent separately. You only pay one shipping cost.
