This raw food is a complete feed and is suitable for dogs of all life stages. Hellä® Beef is a single protein, which makes it easier to isolate protein sources in e.g. elimination diets in connection with allergy investigations. It is protein-rich and easily digestible, and is well suited for working, competing, or very active dogs, but also for dogs with sensitive stomachs, as it contains no bones.
The Hellä® series combines fresh meat with fermented vegetables and lactic acid bacteria that support normal intestinal function. Wild fish olive oil, containing omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, supports the dog's normal brain, eye, and heart functions. The product is balanced with a natural vitamin and mineral blend from herbs and algae.

Guidelines
Feeding recommendation
As a guideline, an adult dog should receive 2% of its desired body weight per day. Feed 1-2 times a day.
Example: If the dog weighs 20 kg but ideally should weigh 18 kg, calculate 2% of 18 kg, which gives 360g per day. If the dog weighs 18 kg but should increase to 20 kg, it should receive 2% of 20 kg, i.e. 400g per day.
| Desired adult weight | Grams / day | Bowls / day |
|---|---|---|
| 2 kg | 40g | 2 |
| 5 kg | 100g | 4 |
| 10 kg | 200g | 8 |
| 20 kg | 400g | 16 |
| 30 kg | 600g | 24 |
| 40 kg | 800g | 32 |
| 50 kg | 1000g | 40 |
This is only a guideline and must be adjusted according to the dog's individual needs; metabolism, activity level, and daily requirements. Dogs do not need to eat exactly the same amount of food every day, so the daily portion can be adjusted according to activity level to maintain a healthy and balanced weight.
Puppies, junior dogs and pregnant bitches ▾
Read more about feeding puppies / junior dogs here.
A puppy between 2–8 months old usually eats 5–10% of its body weight. An 8-week-old puppy weighing 3 kg can start with 300 g of raw food per day, while a 6-month-old puppy weighing 3 kg can eat around 5% of its body weight, i.e., 150 g. The amount can be adjusted according to growth stage – a little more during growth spurts and a little less during growth plateaus, especially if the puppy starts to get a bit plump. Feel free to give the puppy good and edible bones adapted to its size and chewing ability. For small puppies, chicken neck is a good option, while beef cartilage bones are better suited for larger puppies.
Puppies who have not eaten raw food before can start with Vaisto Green or Hellä. Once the stomach has stabilized and the puppy has gotten used to the new food, you can switch to Vaisto Puppy, which is specially developed for growing puppies.
Puppies and junior dogs should have their food divided into 2-3 meals per day. They are growing and therefore need food. Let the puppy eat until full, but keep an eye on its weight - it should not get fat! Pregnant bitches should have free access to food.
Handling
Pour the desired amount into an airtight container (preferably glass) and let it thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Food thawed at room temperature should be given within 12 hours, otherwise, it should be discarded.
The product must not be thawed in a microwave oven.
Remember good hand hygiene! Treat raw food as you would raw meat for humans. Always wash utensils, bowls, and surfaces after contact with and handling of raw meat.
Storage
Store below -18 °C. Keep out of the freezer for as short a time as possible from the store to home.
Once thawed, the food will keep in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
