Orbiloc safety lights come in many different colors. A tip is to choose a different color for each of your pets, as this will make it easy to distinguish between them even from a distance.
The security lights are visible up to 5km away, and it has to do with several factors; the design of the lens, the power of the LED, how the eye perceives different colors, the weather conditions and not least the length of the pet's fur.
Below you will find a description of the lights, so that you can more easily find out which color suits you best. The ones that are in lighter/gray shades are the ones we do not have in stock at the moment, but we will of course take in more colors upon request! The signal colors
WHITE: White light is associated with headlights on cars and bicycles, and can therefore also be associated with the forward direction of someone running or walking. The white light has a great ability to shine through thick and long fur. In emergencies, the white light can also be used as a mini flashlight.
RED: The color red is the universal signal for attention, so in emergencies, red light is great for signaling and safety. The color red has the longest wavelength of any color in the visible spectrum, meaning you can see it from a greater distance than other colors. The color red is also gentle on the eyes to look at in the dark, so it does not interfere with night vision. Red light is associated with taillights and brake lights on cars and bicycles.
YELLOW : Yellow light is the most eye-catching color, especially in the dark, making it a unique and useful color. The human eye is an expert at distinguishing the color yellow from other colors, and supposedly it is very visible in foggy and misty weather. The yellow light is gentle on the eyes to look at, therefore it is suitable for walking the dog on a short leash. We also know the color from warning signs and roadworks, where drivers are accustomed to braking.
BLUE: Blue light is associated with police, emergency services and accidents, and can therefore make drivers slow down in traffic. It can therefore be said to have a preventive effect on accidents. In low light, the blue color shines brighter than other colors. There are usually not many blue lights along the roadway, and the uniqueness of this light can be an extra advantage when you are out and about in the dark. Blue light can also be beneficial for hunters tracking wounded animals in the dark, because blue light helps distinguish the blood against the foliage.
GREEN: Green light is known to improve night vision, helping to intensify contrasts while also having a calming effect. The human eye perceives the color green above any other color. For millennia, humans have interacted in a world where green has been the dominant color. Therefore, evolution dictates our preference for the color green. This makes green light an optimal color for wanting to be noticed in any setting. Green is also highly visible in water.
